There are moments when the clink of a glass means more than a celebration, it signals something beginning. A shift. A toast to what’s next.
That was the spirit behind the Wine Concierge by Terroir, a curated afternoon held at Tiffany Amber Café in Lagos. It wasn’t just a wine tasting. It was a quiet unveiling of a new way to experience wine in Nigeria one rooted in story, origin, and refined taste.

A Setting for Discovery
The venue itself set the tone: elegant, understated, and warm. As guests walked into Tiffany Amber Café, they were welcomed not with extravagance, but with intentionality. Sunlight filtered through the windows. Glasses sat ready. The wine, already breathing.
With each seat taken, the mood shifted from casual conversation to quiet attention. This wasn’t just about drinking wine. It was about understanding it.
The Wines: Bold, Honest, Unapologetically Red
There were no whites. No rosés. This was an afternoon for red wines and for good reason.
From the elegant Château Barre Gentillot Révélation (Graves de Vayres), to layered pours from Margaux, Saint-Julien, and Saint-Émilion, the selection was curated to introduce guests to Premium Bordeaux’s depth, not as an industry, but as a living, breathing region where every bottle carries history in its structure and story.

And that story was told in real time by Quentin Mosnier, Sector Manager and Brand Lead at Château Barre Gentillot. His presence was more than symbolic. It was personal. As he spoke, guests tasted with context learning how soil, harvest, and ageing techniques shape what we drink.
Why We Gathered
Too often in Nigeria, wine is treated like decoration served, enjoyed, but rarely understood.
At Terroir Africa, we believe it’s time to change that.
The Wine Concierge was created to do more than pour premium wines. It was created to reintroduce wine as it’s meant to be experienced with intention, with conversation, and with a sense of place.
This isn’t just about taste. It’s about trust. It’s about building a wine culture where we know what’s in our glass, where it came from, and why it matters.
Rebirth: The True Theme of the Afternoon
In many ways, this event marked a rebirth not just for our brand, but for the wine scene in Lagos. A more conscious audience is emerging. Curious, informed, and ready to explore.
And Terroir Africa is here to lead that conversation one bottle, one story, one experience at a time.
We’re just getting started.
